Wow, this one is really great as well. I want one for myself - he looks fast, hehehe.

Welcome to the forum. I love it when we get new talent.

Ha thanks! I imagined it as being fast and bumpy, hence the obligatory, albeit slightly flimsy saddle-belt. ;)

Yeah it's great to be here..I am still in overload with all the art to look at...and all of this is very inspiring to me. Let me know if you want to paint the Orc-man, if so I can provide you with a larger, hi rez copy if you like.

Take care,

Yeah, go ahead and e-mail it to me. Hopefully I'll make some time next week to color it

Thanks!

Nice job on the shiny highlights on its haunches and feet. Its skin looks nicely slimy & mangy. The one thing I really miss in this one is a background of some sort--even just a texture. Something in dark brownish-grayish-green, I think.

Even as-is, though...great work. You're the man.

Cool. Makes me think of Joust.

Socar: Hey thanks for the comments...yeah it could stand to have a background..I sort of just stopped after doing the creature...I've been experimenting with strong, small highlights and such...glad ye like em.

Gimbal: Ha! Yeah it is similar to Joust, even tho I wasn't thinking of that at the time..funny how things work their way out of your sub-conscious and into yer artwork eh? Heh.

Nice. Funky creature...

Pedals? Nice.. a quirky and interesting element of the image, interesting visuala when backed up by such interesting content is really cool.

Strong highlights can look nice, but you can't describe matte surfaces with them.. It has to be some sort of material that is shiny, be it metal, liquid, slime, wax! yes like the keratin of hair! thats shiny, and rhinocerous skin can look shiny too... skin has its natural oils...

I think the most effective use of your strong white highlights are on the claws, the horns and the strap that goes round the horns... they are really effective highlights.

Welcome to the forum.. and get inspired there is some motivational stuff going on here. OF course this image inspires me too, so keep it up...

(whoa I'm freaked out, I accidentally, yes accidentally wrote 'shite' instead of white! man that would have been a disaster had I not noticed it... )

Hey Collosimo,

Hey thanks for all the comments...Ha yeah he steers the creature left and right with the pedals, gentle input, and starts and stops it with the reins (also useful for holding on). The knee spikes are purely decorative..perhaps to attract the fairer of those amongst us...but yeah they could definitely be a liability should he try to approach anyone whilst wearing them.
