Okay, this is uber-cheesy because I didn't actually finish the image...It was done while I was @ work in my sketchbook -- took 2 hours from starting construction lines to what you see it here... I'm thinking of doing a more complete series of pieces of hot chicks in ancient egyptian garb w/architecture around... Let me know if you have any suggestions (and yes, I'm aware of the funky anatomy problems, espescially w/the arms. ;P~)

Enjoy!

Aye, that's why I said it had some funky anatomy problems. Hee hee
As for coloring... I don't really *do* coloring (=\ I'm not good at it (={ In fact, I suck outright :|
Anyway; I'm going to try and develop a whole series of these, but more complete; (ie; in PS, full background/etc) with different pieces of the mythology strewn around; different statues, etc.

I like this.

The neck and the jaw line see very western. From what little I remember about the egyptian pictures is that there is a thinner longer neck and the face is a little more narrow and angular.

I like the idea want to see more.

hey, I love the idea! and somehow, that craft paper really compliments the theme. ;} perhaps add some highlights with white pencil might be nice, that way you can avoid some coloring issues if you aren't ready for that.

other than the comments made, (chest too far apart, arms a little off) I'd have to agree that perhaps a more angular approach to the figure might be nice. angular in the sense of skeletal structure. think of the bust of nefertiti... she had a very graceful, swanlike neck and flowing features. slightly cat-like. you might want to research some art neuveaux styles too, as the linework was very flowing and would be appropriate for this series. ;} heh. I think they even did a couple cleopatras somewhere in there... ;}

great job tho, very clean and pleasant to look at. ;}

Hi Visigoth!

Like it...here are my comments.

Likes: The woman figure is great so far..I'd thin out her arms a bit, make her wrists thinner and more delicate. Nice knee. More hips! Heh. I like hippy, curvy women. Excellent face...I'd ditch the sphinx or resolve that perspective..plus her hand sitting on it doesn't help things...it looks like an after thought...I think it'd be much stronger with just the woman...very nice so far!

Merekat: Thanks for the comments. This was basically a spur of the moment image; I didn't work from any reference (like I do with all my full-blown pieces) so it doesn't have a completely authentic look to it. Glad you're familiar with the bust of Nefertiti; That is in my opinion one of the finest pieces of art that has ever been created.

NukleoN: LOL -- Yes, the sphinx/hand on the sphinx was a pretty sad afterthought -- I had pretty much posed her out, and then as I started drawing her, I couldn't figure out what to do with her hands, so I decided to just practice a little architecture (and it failed miserably ;P~). At any rate, thanks for the comments; I need to work on my compositional skills...haha
