Hey Loki, indirect thanks...
I sent my monkey doodles off to my buds at Dark Horse for laughs, and It landed me a surprise writing / painting gig! Looks like I'll be doing a 4 page story for Star Wars tales...(A wacky Maul story)
Here's some character designs I worked on today...I'll post more later.

Wow! Congratulations! Your paintings of the monkey were awesome - I laughed my ass off!
So, IMHO the surprise assignment is more than well deserved!
Loki
Oh, nearly forgot - the drawing above is neat too - both are funny!

Good for you! That is some deep, dark crevasse that your Chewy/Green Monkey tongues reside. Very entertaining.
Are these scanned pencil sketches or strictly digital?
Excellent work. Good luck! |

Shinshot- This stuff is all digital...Same as the monkeys. I color all day long with the Wacom, so it feels more natural to me than a pencil does. This was done in PS |

Congrats on the gig! I think they are fantastic! Can't wait to see the rest of the cast. Keep us posted as to the progress, I'll wanna snag a copy from my local pulp pusher!
I also noticed you are a fellow In-Depther like myself (howdy neighbor). Would love for you to put a gallery together to show more cool stuff like this! |

Congratulations Red Leader! It is well deserved, IMO I enjoyed the drawings you did in the monkey thread as well -- As for Luke's arms/legs -- I say keep them the way they are...They add to his comical appearance. |

looks great...i really admire your work, very enrapturing style. one thing i noticed about this pict. though is that chewy's knees are pointed in the right direction but his feet aren't, thus making it seem like an unnatural stance. great otherwise. i look forward to more. |

All- Thanks!
Pixualize- Thanks, I want to put together a web site, I hope to have time in the next month or so... I don't really have a lot of illos right now anyway, the stuff I've drawn for this board over the last month is all I've drawn for over two years, except for a handful of figure drawing sessions. No time in the fast paced coloring world for art for fun's sake. It's sure fun to get back into it.
Kaiju- Yes, this is Dave from CC~ thus the "Red Leader" (his name was Dave... Oh my god, I've become a Star Wars nerd!) |

Kaiju- I refuse to use the Cc boards until they fix the major problems that came along with the half-assed conversion to UltraBoard...I'm not going to turn frames off on my browser just so I can post a message, that's nuts. Too bad, because I really liked that board... |

Whoa those are cool! Immediately identify who they're supposed to be. I think you should leave lukes anatomy as it is personnally, adds to the cartoony feel. |

You don't seem to have forgotten much in 2 years! Why don't you do line art as well as colouring?? I think you're damn good at it! The monkeys were soo very well "animated"... And I like the SW characters very very much! So much caricature and yet so much likeness to the true heroes |
