Okay - it's done! This was much fun to paint, and I'm chomping at the bit to do more using this technique.
Comments, questions, concerns are encouraged!
Also - anyone know how I can get in contact with Sabretooth Games?

Pretty pretty! I like the floorboards. I think it's got a nice dark, night atmosphere to it. Good job..... if you intended on a day scene...you failed! You failed miserably!!! Hehe j/k. But anyway, h onestly really cool. The only thing that .... strikes me as odd is the very right side of the painting with the sliding door... doesn't look right for some reason. |

very good painting man, i like it a lot.
only problems are the right hand side of the door's perspective is off (needs to look like is on the same plane as the wall). also, the proportionsa on the legs are kinda messed up. don't feel bad tho, proportions are the hardest part of drawing people (for me, at least).
other than those two things, i like it a lot. great lighting, mood and emotion. the monster in the background looks awesome |

Yup, as they said, the door's perspective is off, and her left leg is messed up... maybe it's dislocated or something :-P The thigh is too long basically (I think)...
Otherwise this painting rawks :-) Well done :-)

Nice lighting dude! Cool character also!
The only crit I have is that her gun looks like a cam-corder - which slightly changes the story of the image |

I like this picture alot, but I felt that the lighting was taking away from this piece. Don't get me wrong, the shading and the like are very very good, but it needs to be more dynamic! I tweaked the lighting and shading a little bit, I hope you don't mind:

face looks 'rendery', so I'd think about the technique a little more. interesting pic |

Good call, travis! You spotted one of the ONLY two items not painted with Pshop as indicated by the previously posted wip images. The second would be the hands.
I originally used these 3D props just as a reference so I could really work on painting the various textures of the hall, doorway, suit and lurking critter (notice he was not 3D either) rather than fiddle with a sketch and scanning and all.
BTW - I painted all of this with only these two 3D renders as reference I was mainly trying to see if I could get a smooth brush stroke kinda like oils.
Here's a bigger shot of the face just for grins.

Thanks for all the great feedback. This was an excercise in developing a new technique in Pshop to see if I could suggest traditional media. I'm liking the way it's starting to develop. For the 'sketches" I rendered out a couple of quick models to paint over so I could get right into the process and not have to worry with working out fiddly things. Here's a couple of the renders I used to base my painting on.
I may at some point go back and add a few more details here and there and "fix" the door on the right.
Jucas - I like the contrasty version. Creates a sense of drama that I was looking for. |
