This is really cool, Boomstick! I really like
your style. There are some problems with her legs though. I like the breast/stomach area.
Good work!

Reminds me a bit of Simon Bisley, and Frank Frazetta's work.

It's a great style, Boom, nice work!

I agree about the leg issues, but that's getting old now..hehe

sw33t - c00l - heavy, the stomach and left leg where it bends looks a bit odd but what the hell still wicked

Skin Tones remind me of 1 of the Quake 3 Poster....

yeah i really like this style...looks like her leg on the our left side should be dealt with a little more as far as the shading goes. and possibly her stomach too. all is well, however, with the rest of the pict... look forward to seeing more in this style!

F* me, I think that's great. I love the style. I think the fact that it looks off makes it better, really strikes out. Love it...

Don't want to crit too much as you say it's a quick pic, but I just noticed that her left hand has one too many joints in the little finger....

Perhaps others noticed but weren't feeling so anal

No real criticism of the piece though. Good job.

yeah man, this is killer. I was just thinking today taht i have never seen any digital stuff in this kind of style, and ha, its kind of strange that here is a good example!

if you dont mind me asking, what media in painter is this? i have wanted to use my copy of painter to do some stuff like this however i havent found a media that appeals to me. i really like how this looks, but im clueless as to what media it is.

great work. my favorite part about it is her hair and the upper body. that right knee is beautiful too. nice.

BOOM! Yeah, definitely deserves a big "wow"! Love it. I'd just repeat what Micke said. Love the break from nice shading to cartoon red hair... yet it's not too rough a change... great work and colors!

I LOVE IT!

The style reminds me of Simon Bisley or Glen Fabry - muted colors and kinda flat shading.
Very distinctive!

Do more!

cool beans boom! Kinda looks like u were inspired by sienkiwvicz this time around. There's some problems with her anatomy, but I love the style. Painted very well too, specially that breast stomach area.

legs seem to be off(her right one esp)... some ref for those would do good i think.

otherwise this is extremely nice! i like how the more stylized stuff and pure linework is working together with the painted figure. keep experimenting, i want to see more!

janne.

Wow! lots of replys. I'll just run quickly through and comment just as briefly...

Awetopsy - thx. Yes, the legs are abit wierd. Some strange things are happening when sitting in this position and getting knees/legs to look correct is no easy task. I'll do an update shortly.
6hen etc. - thx
Mrpumpernickel - thx. guess it's just an ordinary cigarette. boring, eh?
Micke - thank you my friend.
Rinaldo - thx
Darkgarden - Actually I was aiming for Kent Williams more than Biz or Frazetta. For some reason most of my painted stuff looks more like Fabry no matter how hard I try.
Fallen - thank you very much!
Visionary - thx
Mellowsmoothe - I deliberatly didn't shade everything equally. It might look odd to some, but it was done on purpose.
Milkman - hmm. nothing I guess?
Janne - thx my friend!
Dino - thx.
Neebhore - thx.
Oli_D - thx.
Shardik - very perceptive!
Moose - heh! thx. nothing fancy. round camelhair brushes and some airbrushing, not used for shading though. The airbrush in Painter is fairly quick and is great for covering large parts of paints.
Frost - I like them big 'wow's. Thank you my friend!
Tepox - thx.
Sirstud - I will.
Pixualize - thx.
Roundeye - thanks man. Love your stuff!
Cos - thx.
Burnout - thx. Will do.
,Boom

pheew!

very nice boom. Both the style and girl is great!!!
I agree with the others about the lower leg part.
Also, another thing I noticed is the nose looks a bit weird. Actually, It's doesn't bother me that much here, but I've noticed that you've had a bit wrongshaped nostrils a few times. It's mostly noticable from a underview of the face when you see the nostrils from bellow. I mean, that you draw the arc of the hole with opposite angle...damn, hard to explain...see the sketch....
