Heya guys,
I was just wondering if any of you knew whether or not Nintendo is going to continue producing games for N64? Or with the new Gamecube on shelves will they focus all of their efforts on that console?
The reason I ask is because when N64 came out, it wasn't long at all before Super Nintendo games were fossils. I'm thinking of buyin' an N64 just because they are so cheap and Nintendo's games are a lot of fun to play.
Thanks very much for any information you might be able to provide. |

I'd say that production will end for the N64 dead in it's tracks. There were not many games (good games at that) that were comming out for it before the Gamecube was released anyways.
Still, it isn't a bad buy. You would have the opportunity to play a lot of great games ('Conker's Bad Fur day' being my favorite). |

Hey, cool, thanks very much guys.
Meaty, yea, DC's sure are super-cheap right now. I've been debating whether or not to pick one up. The reason I haven't is because there really aren't that many DC games that I like.. and the ones that I do like, are impossible to find these days (at least in my city). Blarg, I should prolly just save my money for a Gamecube.
Thanks everyone! |

Either the N64 or the Dreamcast is a solid investment at this point I think. But like Bradford said, production of games on the N64 (and the DC) is dead in its tracks. But with games like Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Rayman 2, etc. you really can't go wrong with the N64. The only thing I don't like about the N64 is that for a dead system, its games sure are expensive. I was just looking at picking up a copy of Conker's the other day, the best price I could find was $45 USD. Thats 45 dollars for a game that is 2 years old on a dead system. That is why I personally think the DC is a little better investment right now. The console is only $50, and most of the games are only $20 now. But, the 64 is a good choice right now. |

This is what I got about DreamCast: Dreamcast is no longer making games either... MS sued Dreamcast for using the platform for Dreamcast and MS backed out of the contract to use the platform for the X box... it just now got it so Dreamcast can't be made and no one's going to make games for something that can't be made any more.
It's a bounch of crap, but good thing for us who have 64's my friend just bought one with 2 controllers, 4 memorie cards, 2 ruble packs, and about 20 games at a pawn shop for under $100 bucks. |

Just the other day my producer told me that a game one of our publishers just released was the last official game released for the N64. If it's not the last N64 game to come then I doubt you'll see more than a handful more before the system is officially devoid of upcoming games. |
