Hiya, heres 3 sketches ive done recently, its a big improvement over my last post...
pic 1- I just finished readin nueromancer for the 2nd time(i know, ONLY the 2nd time), and felt like drawing a character. This is one of the teen hacker terrorist guys who is currently off in cyberspace.
pic 2- dunno, just drew this, my cloth is getting better...
pic 3- This was done with photo reference, some model from somewhere...
Im still having A LOT of trouble drawing hands...

Hey!
I like the work you've done on the cloth in #2. The hacker fella looks really, uh, wasted, so I think you've succeeded there. I especially like image 2 because he feels the most "solid" of the three. He's got a structure supporting the lines, where as 1 & 3 seem to emphasize contour over form. Do you do skeletal drawings to start out with (spheres, boxes, cylinders, etc) or do you just start out rendering straight away?
If you want to get more "structural" looking drawings, doing an underdrawing/skeleton will help tremendously. Hoep this helps! Have Fun-

Second one is definitely better. It feels as if you were more confident drawing this one than the other two.
As far as women anatomy is concerned i would advise you to draw from real women with hips, thigh and more roundness nearly everywhere. I personnaly don't think that retouched photos of nearly skeletal poor girls will help you much. |

these are great starts man... but You really need to work on your anatomy.
I do like your poses but you need to concentrate on the figures. go look at anthony's web site with all the loomis figure drawing pages. and go to a book store and see if you can find some figure drawing books. |

The second one is the best, but all of your pictures scream with a certian depression. I'm not certian if you were looking for that style or simply at that point in your life. Your are really progressing though; keep it up! |

Hey guys, thanx for replying...
I think i see what u mean frostfire about some of them being flat, not sure what to do about it tho... im thinking of starting to shade my pics, that might add some depth(but itl prolly look crap at the start cos im not good at it)
Yeh and i know the anatomys not that great... Im doing figure drawing classes at the moment though so i think thats helping.
And thanx for the links, ill check em out...

Hey Tendril, I like these pieces. I noticed that you're having trouble with hands... well, there's a tutorial by Fred Flicks Stones (Ron Lemen) at www.anticz.com and the newest section of the Loomis Project deals with the head, hands, and feet... go to www.antsin3d.com/loomis for that.
