'fraid this is my first try at doing a picture on the computer so be tough and tell me exactly where I've gone wrong and could improve things - nice forum you've got, a lot of talented artists hope I can eventually fit in!

instead of using the dodge/burn tool for all of your lighting, try a more classical approach (in other words try painting in photoshop like you would paint in real life... using different tones and complementaries and all of that good stuff).
That said, the drawing itself is pretty good.

Yeah if I was to be honest I was too busy thinking about trying to use dodge and burn that I never considered how I paint conventionally - thanks for the obvious but worthwile tip! |
