WEll damn... you can draw, dont feel so bad. I'm average when it comes to coloring. Only real good advice I have, is to work from general to specific. You know how to use multiply layers? Lets you paint right over the black lines without making them disapear. Well its more than that, but its kinda like that I suppose. |

Well, Im not a big comic book reader but I can tell you have studyd comic book art and I must say that you have done a very nice job with this. It looks all ready for an inker and some one to color it. Very crisp clean lines. Nice pencil work. I hope you get more coments on this piece. Im probably not the one to make all the coments but Im sure there are some comic buffs or fans that will see this.

That is really effing nice!
I may have to get off my ass and attempt to color it, though my efforts wouldn't be worthy of the original!
Got any more?

Well I don't know... maybe but it's so similar.. I mean, look at mad's site, look at his pictures, the lines, the shading, the mood are the same! how can it be : two great artist with the same style. I don't believe that |

i could defend komsagi (mistyp i am too lazy too look it up) but i am not his guardian angel .... he probably can defend himself beter than i can .. so its beter for me to just go to work and hope one day i will reach that level ...... ...
I still believe it is his own work |

Negative....if you really knew mad's style you would see that he has a much tighter line work then this....this is nice and very MAd like...good work kimbo ...but I don't think it is stolen...why don't you find proof before you start accusing people of things...that's just being an asshole!!
The thing I find hard to believe is that kimbo has improved this much in such a short time...I mean this is nice nice line work.. but hey anything is possible with enough practice

Like I said on Joe's site:
If you would just look around you would notice Kombosagi has a simular style to Joe. Frankly, its a real simple pic.. not much too it. The anatomy on Batman is skewed however and the use of lineweights are stylish, but they are not appropriately used. Joe doesn't make these mistakes. Sorry Kombosagi if that offends you.. just stating facts.
It is a nice Kombosagi pic. Look at the anatomy of the arms. The shading is rendered in the wrong spots also. |

Nah Chapel that doesn't offend me. Thanx for the crit, hopefully next time I won't repeat the same mistakes.
As for what Negative said, I'm not Joe Mad, the idea is a bit flattering though. That guy is worlds better than me. As for his influence well growing up in Zimbabwe one of the first comic I ever bought was that X-Men Alpha with Joe Mad's cover. Back home a comic'd cost me about US$10 so I had to choose between Capullo and Mad, so that's where the whole influence comes from.
Stneil 777 I won't ink it, usually my inking makes a pic look worse than it did in pencils.
Aight thanx c ya.

Negativ...I think it should go without saying that if you are going to accuse somebody of something, then have the proof to back it up. Besides, this issue has beaten to death with Kombosagi before, and I think he's proven himself.
Btw, Kom, where in Zimbabwe were u from? I used to live in Botswana. |

I think this is a fantastic illustration with an even more fantastic background.
Yeah, some anatomy issues need to be worked out, but then again it can all be part of the style, although I believe there are some minor issues (like the arm) which really should be fixed.
Also, is that the joker? I can only really tell by the shirt cuff, but I'm not really sure...if so you should probably make him look a tad more crazed, right now he looks more like some anime villan.
Excellent linework and great use of blocked shaded areas, rather than forms of hatching which make pencil drawings about 100 times cleaner.
I don't really see where there's a problem in the lighting, so I can't explain why some people feel that way, I really don't see any problems with it, it seems to be consistant throughout.
Anyway, overall great job, I like how you gave batman a different look than most other pencillers would've given him.
