Hi.
Here's an exercise picture copied from a photo of Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach, L'Oral TV adverts) by Claudio Carpi. I cannot show you the reference photo since I don't have a scanner. There are still a few mistakes I had seen too late to be able to correct them - the shape of the eye isn't exactly hers - or too lazy - the upper lip and no neck.
Well, crits, comments and tips are warmly welcome.

the eye seems so warm in color compared to the subtle/flat values of the skin. its almost graphic in it layout. this is what i like. can that be enhanced in some way (the skin seems like it is borderline flat)?
the detailing seems so crisp and localised... and maybe the BG can be a cool tone of color rather than such a stark black. just some ideas.
cant wait to see more. yeah! |

Dthind : thanks - have sweet dreams
Icannon : you're right for the alignment thing ... I had some hard time painting her teeth, did them three times and forgot the alignment in the process. I think I understand what you mean about the nostril too, but it's harder to figure out how to fix it. Well, after all this is the first time I'm doing digital painting - I had only done a few colorings yet - so proportions are a bit off... |

wide eye. bushy eye brows. the nostril (not the hole part) is kind of confusing. also, we can see half the nose yet both of her 2 front teeth? so the alignment is a little off. i'd make the lips fatter as well. otherwise, you did a good job. nice lip shine, skin gradients 'n tone over all.
