I really love this painting, the surreality (is that even a WORD?!) the smoothness and blankness of her face against the other parts of the painting are great--good job! |

Thank you for the nice replys!
the_monkey: Black hole sun? .... huh?
Wasn't that a hit for Soundgarden... way back in 199x?
I just made a 14"x20" print this morning, for my wall at work. Our Epson Stylus PRO 9000 works wonders at even 150 dpi image resolution. I can print 43" wide and several feet long (It's fed by paper rolls). Gotta love it

looks great Ko. Love the theme and the girl looks great too. I agree that there are areas that look alittle unfinished. The light on the girls right leg/foot looks alittle odd to me. The foot should be darker and the upperleg abit brighter...
damn, I envy you that printer... :P
,Boom

Ok! I'll fix the foot/leg lighting and do something about those clouds.
(It's done in Painter with a flat airbrush variant)

Visionary:
I think that I'll disapoint you, as there's no deep thoughts behind it. I just sat down and started to draw, knowing that I wanted to draw something human and that was pretty much it. Then I started to think about doing something a bit different and weird with it. I played around with the idea of her having the sun attached to the rope, but it ended up in it's current state with a flaming ball instead of the sun. I intentionally left out flames on the facing side of the ball as this leads my thoughts towards a solar eclipse... I'm not good at explaining my pictures, I'd like people have some thoughts, when looking at it and not just say... !!.. and move on... that's about it. I'm glad that you find it interesting. Thanks
A bomb was not on my mind, when I did it... but I guess that it can be viewed as such.

[UPDATE]
I updated a few things after work today.
Tried to fix the light as BooMStick suggested, and fixed the clouds.
Comments are appreciated!

Even if she was an extremely narrow gal I think her hips would be a tad wider. What do you think?
Hopefully she wont burn her feet when the ball roles under her.

I thought she was jumping rope with a bomb or some kind of rocket(hence the flames in the back). |
