the composition tells me nothing.

is that a filter or a hand job? (god, that sounds bad...)

if it's done all by hand than it's a lovely style indeed

Hey Freddio,

Yeah I can see your picture, but it takes some work getting to for some reason.

It's really quite busy in there. Lots of cross hatching, perhaps too much. Especially when you contrast it with the face in the bottom right hand corner which has no hatching (maybe you meant this?).

Also, the hair on the forhead on the top girl needs some volume, it looks very flat.

Finally, it looks like you're trying to tell a story in there. But, I'm having a hard time imaging what it is. Perhaps, if you rearranged the composition a little, people might have a better understanding of the relationships of the plane, couple, man and other woman.

Hope this is constructive.

Radiater.

ps. There are some strong style elements in there that I like (the plane for example).

Hey Freddio,

Don't take the crit above to seriously. I think I was looking at the rough image of the plate only. The edited image you did in photoshop looks much nicer. Just composition that I'm still stuck on.

i think the pic looks fairly good. no crits really. seeing as how you really cant go back and fix it hehe. the filtered one or what ever you did to it looks good too

Thanks for your comments Radiator..

Basically this image is a gathering of themes and styles of other artists and the contempary world.

Yep when I print I leave ink on the girls face on the bottom to cut away the harshness of the white.

Thanks Guy!

Ahh Freddio, You've brought back old old memories

I used to do a lot of dry point etching, and If I find any old prints I'll scan n show.. Used to do some "Ex Libres" things too..

Anyway, Just some pointers, Rememeber that when you are scratching into the plastic/perspects that you wantr to create fine detail, (this is how I wanted haf of my work anyway) The scratching back does take a little bit of time, but seriously. If you take your time, and work on it, it does really work. I kept fine, but, ahh, the art of etching is really up to you. One thing though.. TAKE YOUR TIME! It's NOt to be rushed! that's the last thing that needs to happen!

Apart from that, it's a wonderful peice, I really really like your composition, although, Some of the things are undefined.. Umm, like the person in the lower left corner..holding something? Ack, Im not
sure.. Anyway, I wanna see more! I LOVE etching
