Hi everybody! I've been watching and reading posts in this forum for a while, and I have friends that are members here. Now I thought it was time to post something myself though.
Hope you like this picture, drawn with my wacom-board. I think it looks kinda 50's scifi in some way?
Feel free to critic!

Hmm... Why doesn't anyone reply? Come on now. Is this how you greet new members?

I think it's wonderful, I love the expression of the man's face. The colours are great, maybe it needs a little more definition to bring it out more?

Try to play around with the light and shadow on the guy under the overhead light. He looks kind of pasted in and lit from the front with no dark shadows.
If he's standing in a dark sewer with only the overhead light, he would be lit from above and not from the front. Try to make the scene darker, including the ladder, and make all elements cast darker shadows. If the ladder is made of metal, it would be nice with some highlights.
What I'm saying is, concentrate more on light and shadow, moving away from the midtones. This will work better for this type of image IMO.

Also... I think that his head and hands a little too small.

I like the hazy/diffuse light over the tip of the tenticle, but it seems weird to me that they guy, who's standing directly under the brightest light source, doesn't have some as well. It might be more internally consistant if you run the airbrush over his hair and shoulders a bit.

Thanks again! Im aware of most of my mistaces, but I'm often quite stressed when drawing, so I guess I called it finish a bit to early...
Maybe I'll get back to i later. If not, look at my next picture for improvements!
You're right about the lighting though!
