Should I weep for you,
Like I know I ought to do.
Or should I, like my heart tells me,
Let you fly, and leave it be.

What to write about this that I haven't already told you?

Let's see. I told you what I think about the rose. And her face. And her sort of peaceful but sad wistfulness. And the composition. And the running leap forward you've suddenly taken in the realism direction. And her glorious hand, repeatedly. Hmmm...

Her ear! I forgot to mention her ear! That's the most attractive ear I've seen in a picture here, I think. Even if it doesn't seem to have a hole.

Those strands of hair are perfect, by the way. But that's a bit of a moot point in a comment on one of your posts.

Enyla I think i spelled that right. You must be painting every minute of every day to be producing so much high quality stuff. Love your faces. They are almost all so smooth and well structured. Fine stuff.

The flower is perfect. Great how you drew attention to it as the focal point. The only thing that stands out to me is her left shoulder. Looks like it might be too sloped or just the wrong angle. Other than that its a great pic.

Wheeeh, thanks everyone!

This picture...well... I don't know actually. I've been working on it on and off for a few days.

And Chapel... you might just be right about the shoulder. I'll take a second look at it tomorrow when I'm actually awake.

For the record:
E N A Y L A

That is an "e" followed by "n" followed by "a" followed by "y" followed by "l" that is followed by "a"...

Amazing Enayla.
Nice use of bg colour, helps to set the mood.
The detailing on this piece has surpassed your other work. I like her eyes and the small detail on the hand and rose and again with the hair.
Nice work.

At first glance the perspective on the jaw area and the shoulders seems twisted.
When i look at it again, the ear seems to be all out of place and a bit flat.

Everything else is good.

very nice pic. i especially like the mood, the flower looks awesome. one criticpoint: to me it seems that the angle of the mouth is a little wrong (compared to the angle of the eyes).

Thanks for all the great advice, everyone!!

I've tried to fix the ear a little, as well as working a little on the angle of her lips. I hope it looks better.

To keep this thread from loading too slowly, I've simply uploaded the new version over the old version. Not even sure if the difference shows.

Hey Enayla... quick question
------You don't use the burn and dodge tool do you???
regardless your tones are great, I'm still a "mouse man" I looked
at some wacoms but I had a question about those too...
------can you move the cursor around with out it writing on everything?
I looked at some and I didn't find any "on" buttons... regardless,
I wonder if they're as convenient as they're made out to be

Great picture... the best I've seen from you yet! This is definitely taking your art in the right direction, much more alive than your previous, smooth, airbrushy work!
Keep it up! I really enjoy this...

The hand and the rose here really do have an incredible feel to them. The face is great too, although to my eye I think there needs to be a bit of darkening under the chin. Just looks too bright.

Row.

I think this is your breakthrough piece. I like the variation of cool/warm colors in the skin. Most people don't know how to pull that off successfully.

Good job!

sublimate, with a wacom you have about half an inch above the pad where you can move the pen, and the cursor will move with it... only once you touch down does it begin drawning... it's weird to get used to at first (hovering over the pad with the pen to draw) but once it clicks into place, there's no going back to a mouse

SoMK: Thanks! I think it's my personal favourite as well. I feel good about it.

Subliminate: It happens - I'm not going to diss the dodge/burn like some do. I use it rarely these days, though, and not at all in this picture. As for the rest - see what shahar2k said I couldn't live without my Wacom.

Ko: I'm glad you enjoy it I don't think I'm going to be completely switching styles, though... not yet. This was more one of those "I'm so inspired" images. I'm not sure if I'll manage to make another quite like it.

Sumaleth: Hm... I think you're right about that. I'm way too tired to fix that now, though.

Lunatique: Thanks! I did learn a lot while drawing this one...

shahar2k: No going back indeed
