I get a wacom, and this is what happens.
It's based on a photo of the same thing published in National Geographic. This was my first time with a wacom so I painted it to get the hang of it... |

HAH!!
I was looking for cool pics to paint from National Geographic magazines the other day and saw this very same picture. It was in a Fairy Tales/ German countryside article, wasn't it?
Anyway, this is very, very good. Nice colors, and good likeness to the photo too. Overall a great painting. Keep up the good work.

Yep, that's the article it came from, about the Grimm Brothers. It just seemed so fascinating. It was a really good exercise in colour selection and rendering of leaves. hehe. 'ta for the props.. |

Gotta love the leaves on the ground. And the technique is brilliant. I've got to go buy a national geographic subscription.

Collosimo: I live in the suburb of The Gap, north-west of the city. more west than north. hehe.
Schabe: Russian painters, ooh, I'll have to look into that. I didn't have any particular style in mind. But thanks for informing me!
eric_morell: The leaves on the ground were pretty much somewhat controlled swiggles, and in spite of that, it worked really well. hehe. here's a detail, the bush on the left was painted with a mouse, the rest of the picture was done with the wacom..
And, national geographic rocks. hehe

Leaves and the trees are gorgeous. My only complaint would be the shack itself, I think nice hard edges would really make it pop out.
