Worked on this last night, the assignment was to have the hero and antagonist interact with each other in some way...is it easy to tell who is who?
Wanted to shoot for an active camera angle... but I'm having trouble with the hero (warrior on floor) pop out more...

I really like the concept it reminds me of a lot of movies where the bad guy is always powerful like a king or something and the measly hero takes over the whole place. I think you have a nice style going and the form is really good too. The only part I have a problem with is the colors. The bad guy has some nice colors but there is no difference between the color or tone between the foreground and background. This is just a sujestion but if you were to select the window in photoshop and play with the curves until you get a cooler color the distance relationship would be greater.
something like that I don't know just a sugestion.

hmm i sort of see the people down there although its hard to make out whats they are doing though, it looks almost like the closest guy on the ground is sitting down with a spear in his hand.... i guess what i am trying to say is this picture is rather unclear |

really nice painting melody
i didn t understood all the pic when i saw it for the very first time , i think what eric did can help a lot , the blue light helps the eye's viewer to focus more on the hero , you are not distract by anything else (like in the first pic), your eye is not lost in the same values .

thanks so far !
I wish I wasn't so bad with values, this looks really muddy. Ugh.
I've taken the suggestion and played with the coloring -- is this better?
If anyone would like to do more paint overs, please do

Thank ya Isric
I've decided to scrap this one and work on another concept of the painting. I'm just fighting the values too much... need a new angle here. I just don't think it really emphasizes anything about the characters or the hostile environment... I'll post an update in this thread hopefully soon :|
