wow, that canyon kicks ass. the zepplin is an awesome design too, but it sorta looks like it was pasted on top as an after-thought. i would suggest turning it toward the viewer to add perspective/depth. make it follow the line of the canyon.

This is really cool.

The zeppelin's design reminds me of Fifth Element styled transportation.

That is sheer beauty. If I could paint like that I would be happy to die and go to heaven... *sigh*

oh well... back to realidad.

very nice. The background is great...love that crack down in the rock.
crits, I think that zeppelin is nicely designed. Only thing could be to work a bit on it's perspective, because you kind of get the feeling that the ship is totally in side view, it could be good to get more and more underperspective on it.
Also, the lights, if you make some more smaller lights, and not let them get glow or totall brightness, you will get a much better feel of scale. Here's what i mean, though, veeery quickly so i don't think I managed to illustrate it well enough, but atleast look at what I ment with the lights and see if you agree ?... click here

but, great work !

kickass. the canyon is super good.
if i was you, i'd check the clouds again, they seem to have a strange angle compared to the ground. looks like the ground plane and the cloud plane collide before the actual horizon. if you paint the clouds higher, and the zeppelin more from below (I probably couldn't do it ), the vastness will be even more disturbing, i think.

anyways, fantastic.

Hey that's pretty cool !!! I really like the design in the zeppelin. One thing you could do is add a subtle backlight, like the light emited from a moon of some sort, it would add a lot of details on the side of the zeppelin and make it more 3D i think...

I like the mood and dessing a lot !

But I think that its a too planar image.
It only needs add some drama changing the camera...

Good work!

Heya guys!

Thanks for all the crits! Much appreciated!

v1510nAry: hehe dude, i've said before this pict was inspired by Loki's post... and i remember the oilcity well.

faustgfx: mmm... why?

topeira: yes, it's photoshop. I prefer Painter for now but i'd like to switch to ps from time to time. And yeees zeppelins is a favourite loki's theme hehe... i can't resist.

Joachim: you're totally right - the smaller lights/glows makes this hull really HUGE. I like the 'repaint' you've done... got some ideas.

Horg: aaargh... these ideas comes too late!

wayfinder: thanks man! Everything is strange in the pict cuz i didn't checkup some important things. And don't it tell to everyone - i was too lazy to build a simple 3d reference .

Ian: good boyz goto heaven bad boyz goto London nevermind...

Cos: no 3d there... just a crappy scratch. Sorry man, i didn't have any in-progress picts. The process is kinda Mechwarrior spotlight i've done for gameart.

SporQ: thx! I promise to do some research before painting.

Really good work on this one Leo.
I opened this thread not really knowing what to expect, I was surprised to see such an awesome painting !

The only crit which was mentionned before as well, is the perspective, which seems a lil weird..

Thats all ! Great job !

I like it...now you're talking my language. As I look though, the lower two side arching panels seem exactly the same height, perhaps you can break up the "line" so it doesn't looked cloned. Don't misunderstand me
I git critz too, and it's just very minor. The split mountain in da background rocks! Good lighting too. Ed--

THat's a great one, Leo - just found it ...

The reason why the Zeppelin doesn't seem to be totally integrated is the lack of athmospheric prespective (haze).

I kinda can see that you were inspired by 'Oil City' ... I feel honored - your image is great! Kind of a shame that the Zeppelin takes the attention away from that awesome canyon in the lower right ...

Right on, doooood!
