That's a great photograph you've taken, and IMO some decent 3D work (I've never done any 3D stuff in my life). The actual piece is a bit confusing to look at, but I like the idea and the color scheme. I hope somebody with a some experience with 3D rendering (i.e. not me) will give you some crits and tips. Cheers!

awesome pic...
One thing it does need in order to give a true photographic feel though is a point of focus (if you're going for a photographic feel). As it is right now the forground and the background is all in focus. I'm not sure what 3d progam you were using, but many of them do have a way to do this.
Anyway, like I said it's already an awesome pic and good luck to you.

Well i've done some 3d, and i have some ideas you should do..
First of all you should turn the ambient light lower (in 5-15%), create spot light coming there where the moon is, pick some light blue color, use same lighten color with the fog and make the fog more "invisible".
If you have photoshop:
Make a new layer, darken the front of the house and the high light on the roof with, choosing paint brush, picking black color, painting over the house and changing the opasity of the layer.
Make another layer, copy the center of the pipe and move it to left side, paint the center of the pipe with the same dark color like the left of the pipe was..
..Are you still awake?..
Use some color, what fits with the moon, to light/color the right side and the left edge of the pipe.
It's just an suggestion.. try it out if it works.. B)

Just when things turn to acceptable, you open your eyes.. |

Not.. not sure how you did it. It *does* seem hard to get any crits here any more. I wouldnt take it personal.
Anyway, its not bad but I would avoid the extreme white. It kills the form. Try to make the picture pleasing too look as a whole instead of rendering cool looking stuff.
