i did this piece the traditional way, with water colors. It was an assignment for my art class. I copied this from the some what famous, french artist, Edgar Degas. He was a painter who did pretty much all his paintings based on women and ballerinas. The actual painting i did extands more on the top and bottom, but because my scanner isnt big enough i cant get the whole thing in.

ENJOY!

I used to do quite alot of water color paintings myself.

I remember my art teacher telling me to be as spontaneous as possible and to give the colors a 'transparent' feel to it.

I enjoyef the colors on your piece. But I think her legs are not well alligned to her body.

Brue -

Really nice work on this piece! I have to agree that the legs don't quite line up, they might also be slightly too small. Try to check your work in a make-up mirror, or against, a window, flipped, to try to get a 'fresh' eye on it. This is something that the most experienced artists I know still do... Most of us tend to lose a fair amount of proportions, as you concentrate on the drawing. Either way, still a great piece.

Hope this is useful!

thank you very much for your comments. That really helped liquid. I agree about the legs. I didnt even notice them until i had scanned it. i attempted to re do them digitally but i think they may be a bit too far forward now.

anymore comments or crits? If you would like i will try and find the refrence pic so you can compare.
