-This is soooo 4 months ago, somebody wrote... hehe. But here's another selfportrait. I've never been the fastest fella around anyway. I have tried to make it look like a baroque-painting, with the brownish colors. I am a Mac-user, so I guess some of you have to turn up the brightness a little to see it better. Critics are welcome.

Oh, and by the way, I have opened my website now. Please take a look, and give me some feedback if you like.

This weekend I'm going skiing in Trysil. Maybe I catch some of you guys at the afterski?

Hmmm... this picture sure look strange on my laptop...

Hiya Kjetil, I like the atmosphere of this portrait alot.

The farthest eye seems to be a little too low. I have a habit of doing the same!

That's a real nice range of colours as well. Great stuff!

Maybe you should use a darker background on the right and a much lighter one on the left. Hopefully, that'll create a nice contrast with your face and make it more "interesting" than your cheek... Because right now your cheek is really the center of attention. Nice painting though.

It looks great, I really like that warm feeling. Just one crit, his right side seems a little muddy. You might want to use make some parts darker or lighter to define a little more. I checked out your web page, it looks great. I really like your portraits.

Cool! I'm being quoted now. Moving up in the world.

Seriously though, this is an excellent painting. Really well done, no crits aside from the previous suggestions. Actually, I kind of like the idea of a reverse lighting scheme for the background. But it's great as it is now. Good job!

Very nice! I think you captured the expression perfectly! Dunno what you look like, but the portrait looks like a "real face" would - everything is where is should be. Also love the use of colors.

I'm with the crowd on increasing the contrast on the left background of the painting.

very very nice kjetil. Everything looks great. If it would have been anyhing to pick on, maybe it could have been nice if you added a few color variations and also some harder edges here and there. But, other than that, awesome.

Thanks for the response everyone. This critics was very useful to me.

Ceenda: Your picture was great, I saw it the moment when I was going to post this one. Fantastic work. I almost didn't post this one.. Thanks for mentioning the eye. I have to admit that the left side is pretty underworked... It will be fixed today.

BurnOut and mykscholze, thanks.

NilreMK, you have a good point. It would have made a good contrast. My idea was to let the left side of the face almost dissapear into the painting, but I see that my cheek is a bit too much in the centre of things. I will try reverse it. Thanks.

Agent44, maybe the right side is a bit muddy. This means I should have worked some more on it. I'm glad you liked my homepage.

Liquid, I will try to do something about the right side.

Sacrelious, I like the idea for the reversed lightning too. Otherwise, thanks.

Cuddly: Hopefully I look something like my selfportrait.

Hi Joachim, glad you like it. I get your points, and I'll sharpen some edges here and there and go for a general shape-up.

I really got useful critics here, so I've decided to work some more on the picture, just have to get through this days work first. Thank you.

-Kjetil

I did some touch-ups. I haven't really reversed the colors, but I put some more light begind the face on the left side. I have tried to fix the left eye, but it's so dark there, I think it's really hard to do it right. Anyway, I hope you find this version to be better.

Weeks, I have tried to work on the ear a little. I hope it helped.
Toast: ... Well, I didn't find a good background, and it was a portrait anyway. After taking a look at some Rembrandt pictures in an old encyclopedia, I did this instead. I think it works better.
