I've been working on Taro here for a while, some of you might remember him from posts long long time ago. Well here is a super simplified version of him. Simplified because I wanna make animating him in flash easier that way I can get a lot of flowing frames and keep tweening to the minimum.
Although I am doing this for school, I am planning to go above and beyond the assigment and blow it into a high production Flash animation, which might end up in my portfolio. well here they are , sketched by hand, scanned, traced in flash and colored in flash. i consider these final as for his structure , the colors might change though but everything else is final. I cant wait to start animating him

Very cool design Osk, it has a nice 'tight' feel to the design, like the final product for a really succesful game. nice coolers too |

I'm loving the facial expressions. In something like this the face can tell (or ruin) the whole story. |

you should put in a Mad rage facial expression
btw I finally got 3D studio going again, seems to be stable, so you might get more models out of me yet....

thank you all for the comments .. i had to keep the colors light so that you could see the tiny eyes in the tiny head.
This will be my first time animating something 2d , since I mostly work 3d, I hope i can make this animation fun to watch, like the ones synj does. well we will see
Hey Shar! Trust me i had a huge urge to put that mad in rage facial expression, but the whole point of the actions and facial expressions is to represent the characters personality ... and from u can see he is just a big wimp! hehe well he is sorta like a big monster thing that doesnt know he could probably crush anything if he wanted to. He is rather calm. Like an elephant being scared of a mouse attitude. And he is kind, but gets scared easily . The setting wont be on earth, so I can play around with other weird creatures .. and such..
well good luck with 3ds max I hope is version 3.1 otherwise my condolences.
I havent had much time to do any Xenology stuff Shar school is keeping me very busy this quarter, if u talk to the guys tell em so ..

cool. i really dig the legs there. Always wanted to animate a character like that but never understood how those legs move for some reason.
The only thing that bugs me is his face totally looks like that visor guy from Quake 3 i think? ah well.
regardless of that, it looks good! let us know when you've got it ready to show!
[EDIT]
hehe just saw my name in the final post you did. Thanks for that! It's appreciated.
