Socar's gonna kill you.
I think this is very well-done, especially for a first piece. The coloring is a little splotchy, and overall it seems a little too crisp and white. Everything is so sharp. It kind of kills the spontenaity and life of the picture. Looks too static. Give it some fancy lighting, maybe. Still, for a first attempt, this is great. My first pieces were abominations. I'm still not very good, but I definitely have improved greatly. My biggest suggestion to you would be to never take this forum for granted, stick with it and get as much as you can from it, you'll improve quickly. |

Great Job, attention to detail for the most part is right on. The pic in fact or scene was beleiveable.
The aspect that stood out to me right off was the fact we have a mouse, which is done well, then the mouse trap that in relationship to the mouse looked right but those 2 sitting on the floor with wood slats make the mouse and trap now appear extremely large.
The trap in width would at most be almost as wide as most wood floor slats.
I recomend changing what it is setting on to anotehr surface type or make the floor more accurate.
It would make the scene then more believable.
Also for an added point of detail to really add to the pic, you might consider a wall socket.
Also, Cast shadow, anytime you set something upon another surface, you will see shadow of some sort somewhere.
I would enhance or put where there is none shadow between trap and floor, mouse and floor, mouse and trap.
There are a few, that would make all of your detail pop then.
Note these are merely sugestions, and just to say if the floor had been different I would say nearly perfect.
Humbly submitted,
Mark

I agree with Max and Tinusch.
I like the image overall. Perhaps you could motion blur the wacking bar much much more then you have. It could add a bridge in peoples minds and perhaps make them squint more. As far as thapainting technique: If you're up for experimenting some more with it I would sugest using a paint brush instead of an airbrush to lay your shadows. I like it though Good Job!
...think about it: you're picking up a mars bar from your local convenience store and you get wacked like that. that would suck! I dunno I always try to put myself in anothers shoes! Outch!
