Hi Guys,
I started a new sketch tonight.. but since I joined this forum I was thinking of asking your opinion on this image, before I go any further.
If you have any suggestions on the composition especially, post it away.
What you see here is a super-fast sketch of course.

Damn you and your amazing skill! That's just a sketch!!!!! But very nicely done. Almost looks like a finished work to me.
Composition looks great, but just for a suggestion ( you don't have to listen to it ), add some flowers or bushes to the lower left corner. I think her toe pointing out may lead the viewer's eye off the screen, but just a tiny suggestion..
But seriously, this has great composition and is on it's way to be complete.
Look forward to seeing the completed image. |

Gorgeous palette. I realize that it is only in it's early stages, but the flute is a little bit curved. Just make sure you straighten that out at some point, you don't want her playing a "skin flute". :P |

Nice job! I agree about the foot... just a little bit too bright and catches my eye and moves my attention away from where I should be looking. It reminds me of a king's quest game lol
"Pick up gold ball"
'Where?'
"Pick up gold ball under bridge"
'What bridge?'
"Pick up the ***damned ball under the ***damned bridge!!!"
'what does ***damned mean?'
GRRR. "Jump off bridge"
'Rosella leaps off bridge to her death. Try again? Yes No' (over dramatized )
If you've ever played King's Quest: the Perils of Rosella, you know what i'm talking about
But enough about that... totally off topic heh.
GJ on the picture. I love the colors used in the picture, very appealing to me and relaxing.

lovely... I have two crits though (even though it is just a sketch):
The wrinkles across the lower part of the dress make is look more like her left leg (our right) is very long, and crosses over the other one. Its subtle, but enough so that it is kind of strange.
And also... I think the picture would have a much nicer mood if she wasn't looking at the viewer. Its almost as though she is distracted at the moment. Personally, I think having her eyes closed would look very nice.
I like it a lot so far though. =) |

Great comments. I will take them all into account as I work on this.
I finally found some time to work on the painting today. I worked on the top part (leaves and tree), the rest is still as it was in the sketch above. Here it is:
