This image was just a quickie. Can someone tell me how to improve upon it? There is something I really hate about it. I think it might have something to do with the brush strokes on the background. I'm sure there is a lot more wrong with it than that though. Any ideas?

I generally dig ambiguous backgrounds, this one included. It's an awful lot of your real estate with nothing solid in it though. Nothing to ease the transition from tangible to insubstantial.

The background itself, nothing really strikes me as being off or anything.
