Hi there,
This is my first post. I made it yesterday, (with some help of Merlyns ). Hope you all like it. I've just one problem: the background... I want to make some sort of a forest with a sunset, but I dont know how I should make leaves and the sun. Can anybody tell me how to do that??
Thanx,
Aloys

o nice I didn't saw the colered version of it good work I recomend putting some highlights in the hair and on the face also add some darker shadows everywhere and some shadows in the white part of the bird.

It's a good start. The proportions on the face look correct. Colour could use a bit more contrast - add some dark shadows. Experiment - go nuts with the black and white and all the other colours to give it some volume. I think you've got something going here that could be explosive.
Um.. Other than that, the perspective looks a tad odd. The perspective of the bird and the arm look a little off.. but something to work on in the future. Great start and keep on drawing. |

You did a great job making the arm point away from the viewer, but the bird isnt sitting at the same angle as the arm. He needs to turn to his left a little bit, I think, to make that look more convincing. You're off to a good start.

One little thing:
Birds are usually to have rounded eyes, unless something perticular is ment... Well, I'm not that much of a good painter (yet ) myself, but I'd rather drawing it with more bird-like eyes...

I know that it's tough at first, but try to avoid using perfect side views, especially on multiple characters. I think a 3/4 view with the bird's tail closest to the viewer might look really good. |
