Hello everyone.. I'm new here and already I'm getting you angry with my newbie questions. This is my first time I'm trying to draw a Female and I'm having really hard time drawing it. I'd like to draw realistic like body but I don't have enough skills to do that.. So I thought that maybe you guys could give me few tips how to draw female body? I'd really appreciate that alot. Thanks.. Here's the pic:
Fixed the link after all..

Um.. These are just personal opinions, but might not be correct, but here's a shot:
- Boobs too big
- Waist a tad too thin
- Legs look long, but measure correct, so they must be too thin
- Ears look a little funny - sticking too far out.
Actually, maybe your proportions are correct in length, but in width, things might be a little off. I dunno.
Main issue is the boobs, I think they're throwing everything off - too big for a body like that.
Check out some anatomy text books, they do wonders and they're cheap if you buy them at a College Used Book Store. Or better yet, find a female friend and take her measurements (and try and get dinner and a movie out of it at the same time). hehehehe .
Anyway, best of luck, sorry I'm not much of a help. |

boobs are not that circular. You have some nice birthday balloons there, but real boobs would be influenced by gravity. |

Do you know the loomis books?

I don't think working on that drawing will help very much. Maybe you should do some pencil sketches?
Or course I don't know ... maybe you are practicing already? |

Is it really realism you're going for, or a more stylised extreme look - I'm thinking Alita Battleangel, or Tank Girl by Jamie Hewitt?
If your going for true realism, then I can just amen to everyone who has already posted. On the other hand, if you're going for that BigBoobs-TinyWaist-LongLegs-look, I think you're well on your way, maybe try a few different poses and not only the full frontal thing?
I don't know much about manga/anime stuff, but I would think you might be a bit better off looking at that stuff instead of loomis unless you want to learn how to draw proper first.... (Loomis books are great in any case though)
Regards

Hi,
I think, if you are going for realism, you need to go further in your corrections, especially with regard to leg length:

Ok Maybe realism is wrong word in this case.
With realism I meant I want to draw female who looks like a female that doesn't have "boyish" body. I have no intentions or skills to draw a female that looks like she's straight from a photo(Sure would be nice to be able to draw one someday ). Also I am huge Anime and Manga fan which you already noticed. Well thanks for the comments and crits guys I'm learning much because of you guys . |
