Hey everyone, just like 50billion other's I seen posting this same kind of message, I've been lurking for a while and have finally decided to post. I must say, the amount of quality and skill in these forums is rather intimidating :P
I did this tonight in a few hours, I know it's not great but I'm rather pleased with the outcome. Lost a bit of color depth to compression, ah well.
I basically have no painting history, I'm learning to use both a tablet and painter, so hopefully I'll improve quickly. As always, any comments or critics would be welcome. Might harm my fragile psych to endure such picking apart, but hey, I never said i wasn't a masochist

yes, i too have noticed its definately intimidating here! there should be a section soley for newbs
but about your piece, i like it. constructive criticism: however, as my teacher used to always say, 'more value!'... it could use more value and contrast, particularly in the branches. The lighting doesnt seem to make sense. the limbs should be darker, less visible, and without such highlights. keep going ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
