Hey..
I never knew about these forums until yesterday, and I gotta say I love the work I see here.. although 99% of it makes me feel inferior
I usually draw with a pencil (it's what I'm best at), but today I was so bored I decided I'll try to draw something with photoshop for a change, although using a mouse is horrible.
I did this sketch only using the size 3 brush tool in photoshop, using a mouse (wish I could afford a tablet ) ..
It's far from done, but I'd like to know if it's any good before going any further. This is a very rough sketch, and I plan to trace it again with cleaner lines and hopefully color it if anyone will like it.
It's hard to tell without colors/shading, but the sword is actually a part of his bones emerging from his arms.. yes, he's a freak.
Edit: Another quick character sketch..
Thanks for any feedback!

Your concept is mindblowing, I mean I never head of that before and it just great!!!
I've always wanted to have a guy with weapn sticking out of his arm, but I ever thought of is like Wolverine.
Keep up the good work!!! |

Hi, welcome to the forum. Don't feel intimidated, everyone has been through the 'noob' stage.
nice concepts, like Daniel said. Freaky expression in the eyes, and that bandana wrapped round the face really makes him look suspicious!
Keep practicing, practicing and more... practicing. Keep working on the actual structure of the drawing before you move any further with cleaning it up. Probably sketch it out with pencil to make it easier, no one likes drawing with a mouse.
Hope that helps. |

Hey!
Nice concepts. Like Daniel said, the weapons, that are sticking out of him are a pretty cool idea.
But keep practicing! The proportions arent really right on both pics. Looking on some photos for reference is always a big help there. They might help you with the pose too.
Anyway... Nice start! |

A bit surprised that no one else has mentioned this, but the character is very reminicent to that of Raziel, the main character from the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver video game(s). His general look and 'sword' protruding from his arm makes it seem like this is a fan art piece as opposed to an original character. I like the idea that you've got here, so the only suggestion that I can make is to try a few different takes on what you have so far.
Btw, that's a pretty good job for a moused PS pic Keep it up ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
