I'm writing a concept for a comic.. The "hero" is just another guy trying to make it through the day alive - which is not easy when aliens, monsters and people in suits all wants a piece of you.. The reason he's being chased is that he has a special talent for spotting things that aren't completely ordinary..
The sketches here a my first doodles trying to get a feel for the lead character.. who btw still has no name..
I've tried to make it look dark and spooky but it turned out comical instead.. dammit!
c&c is most welcome!

I think the bright colors is the main reason for the comical feel in the comic, try less saturation and harder shadows... |

Thx for the comments.. Yes less saturation and harder shadows sounds good.. I've tried to understand what makes Mignolas Hellboy work so well, and as a study I've tried to copy the style somewhat - any comments?

Hey, good artwork, I like the following two:
http://212.242.230.235/karatehero/menace/gfx/spotter10.jpg http://212.242.230.235/karatehero/menace/gfx/spotter12.jpg
The others i actually quite hate.. the style reminds me of some ytv show i didnt like and was ubber fake LOL sorry if i sound rude, but hmm the two pics i like well the first one is really amazing little cartoon portrait and the second has really cool feels like a real cartoon My personal opinion I wish you'd always draw that style, good artwork bro and the lightning in these two I pick as favs is really fantastic.

Thx for the comments - and thx for being honest (I think).. I really dig the Mignola style, but probably don't have his talent for that making cool simple style, that to me is nothing short of breathtaking (rant, rant)
Here's an entirely different style.. hmm I quite like it actually, but not sure if it fits the concept... Any comments?
