I'm not sure but my opinion is that with the light coming from above we almost shouldn't be able to see the eyes at all. Are you working from a photo?
It's bound to look kind of scary I guess.

please head over here faces
There are some really good examples of female facial features.
It seems like you're not accounting for the three dimensional quality inherent to most faces. The far eye doesn't wrap around and the nose is pointing right at us(it's so weird; it just follows you wherever you go). The eyes are a little too almond shaped for my taste, with no tear ducts or lashes.
The mouth is nicely shaped, though in general, the lower lip doesn't appear as wide as the upper.
The lighting isn't terribly consistant. The eye pits and whole lower face are in shadow, but the nose doesn't seem to affect the intensity of that shadow (now, if she has a five o'clock shadow, please forgive me).

Please look into the Loomis books on-line and just stare at people's faces all the time(chuckle and twitch every so often, too, they like that).

This is entirely my own opinion (like the rest of this wasn't, heh), but it seems like you're over-scrubbing. Don't be afraid to leave some line on the paper. Line is your friend, line is good.
