Hi
As an experiment to learn more of colors and light I've tried to color a line drawing. The drawing is one of BASTIONs really nice characters, he gave me permission to post my experiment =) I am a complete newbie to this, I have no art training or such, so I've mostly tried to go on what I read here in ppl's advice and the advice of a friend of mine (he posts here as a_sh).
Here's the image: (assuming the link works =)
It's a rather boring color scheme and I remembered after I'd done it that this was really supposed to be some kind of dark elf (I think), but anyway =) I'm not sure what to do with it so I posted it in WIP since it doesn't feel finished. Crits?
I also have a version with a highlights layer turned on here, do the extra highlights add anything or are they a bad idea?
BASTIONs original is here (BASTION, is it ok that I put it on my webspace? I couldn't find any site of yours with the pic).
One more thing =) I started to mess about with a sketch by Feng Zhu too, but he doesn't post here I think. Is it ok if I put that up too and just make very sure to say that it's his pic and not mine? |

Hi, great to see you here! =)
Have you done anything to the pic since i saw it last time? i can't see any differense anyway
Feng Zhu used to post here. Long time since i saw him last time here though...
i remember that he once started a thread there everyone was supposed to do their take on colouring one of his line arts, so my guess is that he doesn't mind that much
(it would still be good manners to ask him none the same) ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
