I was just looking through the forums here and realized that there are alot of new illustrators here (not that I am a pro), and remembered when I was bitten by the hero creation bug. I liked drawing all my life, and enjoyed comics but neither really had an impact in my life. That was until I was in... um... grade 7-8 and I read Darkhawk from Marvel, I was hooked. Then I watched TMNT and saw Cassy Jones(?). It was some where in there I came up with this character...Vigour... Now that I have shown mine, show us yours.
PS This is the origninal drawing/sketch.(Drawn on the back of my Language Arts coverpage.)

Yo! I musta' done this when i was like 11 or somethin', The color one is the original piece of paper and the b/w one is an overlay to get the original design back by my step-brother.
He's obviously a robot, heavily inspired by both Robotech (the Macross parts) and the sword is like the one from Thundercats. Wow, I can't believe i remeber all that. It's been 14 years or more.
Nostalgically yours,

Hehe...laugh hard at my heinous Photoshop attempt, from...well, ages ago:
...and my heinous line-drawing:
They were characters from a comic I used to work on all the time called "G.F.A.A." ...it stood for "Go F--- an Armadillo" (not that this ever actually HAPPENED, of course!) It was about this dorky guy called Ernest Nobody...but I can't find any of the pictures of him...so I just put up side-characters instead. The top one was the "baddie", and the bottom one was a ghoul (Ernest Nobody's fantasy love interest). My poor comic got refused by a publisher noted for being open to the dark and twisted, ostensibly for disturbing content, but I'm clinging to the hope that it was really my bad drawing that did it.
See...sick and wrong as it sounds...if I ever get time, I still intend to draw this damn comic. Not this badly, though!

Woweeeeeeee, I think this is probably one of my earliest characters.
I particularly like the complete lack of perspective.
Way back when I first read DUNE I had the whole DUNE fan thing going on (still do). Anyway, this was meant to be a character design for the Emperor Shaddam IV. Found the image by looking in the web archives.

Ha-ha
These are great, I keep laughing at the characters that I came up with when I was young.
Val- those were pretty cool for that age.
Myles- Neato story, the imagination of the young. *sigh* I kinda like the drawings some cool elements to them.
ceenda- Yeah, Dune what a film. The original was so good. Though I really liked the look of the recent remake. Too bad one can not simply merge two movies together.
