http://www.planetunreal.com/onlinewarriors/robot.jpg

I like to work in steps done it for a while it has worked for me.. The robot is first step in this one... in the full picture you can see his feet etc and I will have cliff with some dramtic background not sure what yet maybe some destoryed city or something not really sure... something that balances the picture right

What I am trying to concentrate right now is the dirty metalic texture on the robots body... makeing it looks diry and worn...

Well hope you like and I will keep on updating it

goin quite nice. i like it very much with the shiny bits and all but to get a diry look you might want to add scretches, dents and rusty bits, it dont liik too worn right now but year, i like it very much

Thats really cool. It jumps out at you like its 3d. You should do what they said, add some scratches and suck. Good job.

don't forget some hard shadows (eg where the neck meets the body). I wonder if the pure white background can influence you negativly at choosing apropriate values.

Looks great so far, but I heard once (or twice) that blocking out some large forms can help you to get the values right, before going into detail. You could do this by an "Multiply"-Layer so you still the linedrawing in the background. Drawing completely detailed from upper left to lower right might cause some problems.

Keep going, I want to see the final!
