hmp, well I think you did that very nicely but just one thing his skin color should be a little darker but beside that its a very good image maybe you should try a different posse, just an idea. thats it.

the model looks nice although not quite there yet- he should be fat and heavy, with a hanging belly and a belt below it..
His hands should also be larger- try using a reference image directly behind your model so that you'd be able to match the proportions correctly.
1150 polys is really low by today's standards, you can definitely push it to at least 3000 and give him a nicer detailed face and use the remaining polys to add detail to his body.
The textures are quite bland right now but i'm assuming you're still working on it.
what are you going to do with it? use it in a Quake3/UT kind of game? |

Truth be told, I was actually doing another model at the time, when I started texturing and thought it resembled Shrek, so I went back and worked off that tangent. So no reference was actually used until I started texturing.
I'll consider adding more polys. I'm still sticking to the lower end of the spectrum. *shrugs* @:-) To this end, the hand only had two fingers and a thumb, so yeah, I should up it a bit. Really I'm only modelling for practice, but putting it into Q3 is an option. Whether I can remember how to is another matter...
Thanks for the crits. Keep 'em comin' |
