I like the new version's composition, I think the girl's position is now more natural, they also seem more intimate. you did an awesome job on the lizardman's scales. Sweet pic, hope to see this completed again soon. |

eatpoo contest entry. i was dumb enough to save over my work while it was in low res, hence you get a very pretty but useless version here and the new version:
i have very poor line control, hence i'm a messy penciller, and an even messier inker. so i spent all of today inking this bloody drawing on photoshop. still have to touch up a few things, check line widths. the lizardman's skin is almost completely done by hand.
also have yet to add textures for her bikini, background and tattoos for each of them. maybe a sword inscription.

here's the the current state, almost finished. i have a few more areas to colour and some highlights to add, and i still need to detail her bikini and the border.

It's somewhat odd subject matter, but a really lovely piece. The details are really gorgeous, especially on the scales and girl's headdress. Your choice of colors really livens up the scene and compliments the characters well. I really like it. :3 The only critique I have is that the sword may be a little too bright; it's almost drawing too much attention down away from the focal point (but I could be wrong...). Also, it doesn't look like the lizardman has a very strong grip on the girl, and it feels more like she's floating above him than resting on him. I'm not sure that it's a big problem, or what you could do to address it, though (maybe tighten his fingers a little, or curve her back inward somewhat where he's supporting her weight?) I really love how it's coming along, though, and I look forward to seeing the completed version.
Good luck!

i love this piece... definitely something new and refreshing... i agree with julie about the colors, although i'm split on the sword issue...
i'm also with julie on the issue of the amount of support the girl seems to have, or lack thereof... due to the lizardman's apparent anatomy, it doesn't look like she has much to rest her weight on... maybe if she was a little closer to him, or her legs wrapped around him it might look a little more believable, i guess...
but i still love the pic... ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

i spent aaaaages on the colours, so i'm glad they're getting a good response. i realise i have to keep the focus high - that's why i added a hard light gradient on the background. i'll look into the sword.
every sketch i did of this picture had her legs around him, but i simply couldn't draw legs like that. i might try and tighten his hand though, thanks julie.
