IM TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO MAKE THE SPIKES
LOOK LIKE SPIKES FROM AN IRREGULAR VIEW
SINCE THE SPIKES ON THE HEAD AREN'T BEING DONE FROM A SIDE VIEW, RATHER A TOP--ISH VIEW
I NEED HELP ON CREATING THE SPECIFIC HIGHLIGHTS TO MAKE THE SPIKES LOOK POINTY FROM A TOP VIEW
ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

Well, you have a good start so far, I would suggent making sure you know where the light source in the picture is first. On the spikes it's clear, but is a little more muddles on the face. To make the spikes stand out, all you need is to give the spikes cast shadows. Now this is where good knowledge of the light source comes in handy as the length and the shape of the cast shadow will entirely depend upon where the light is placed.
