If that doesn't work, Hand

Also, the sketch I did: Sketch(paper, scanned)

I'm really a big newb, I am still learning when and where to use layers, etc. So hints, tips, crits, boost my self-esteem

Thanks in advance for obliterating my image

PS: this is only like 30 minutes of work, so yeah. I just don't really know where to go from here, like, how to make it more realistic, "render"(?) it more?

Make a new layer over the image, and set it to Multiply. Then just color directly on that layer. It will preserve the linework and you can color away without worrying about messing it up.

heh. That'll probably help Thanks!

Can you comment perhaps even on the original sketch? Good? Bad? Anatomy? Crits? Etc...

I would paint in a scribled fashion like your pencil drawing. I think that would be benifial.

Anyhow, hard to be scribbly with a mouse I find... and it's just not natural.
