well I haven't posted in a while so I decided I should put something up. I'm working on a picture of the late Layne Staley. I'm using the fleabrain(tm) phototracing technique to get the major transitions of light and texture. It's not quite as detailed, thats for sure, but it works for the style I'm going after (something akin to colored pencil rendering)
I'll be smoothing out the neck next, I had just roughed that out minutes ago. It'll look closer to the lower face in texture. C&Cs of course are appreciated.

meh, I hate my school. It blocks out planetunreal.com which I use to upload all my stuff on. I can't even check if the links are correct. Odd how I can still access my ftp on it though.

Looks like your of to a good start, but...
... Don't use the same type of shading for the beard and the neck... I makes it look like he's hairy all over... Layne the Werewolf... Which isn't quite what your looking for, now is it? |
