It's not really inbetween comic-book style(Or manga, in this case) and realistic, it's just in a non-cartoony(Non-chibi?) comic-book style. But it's a nice style.
You've got some lovely linework on the face, especially round the eyes, although I'd suggest some heavier lineweight here and there, especially on the hair(Which looks unfinished, sop I guess your planning to work on it), and perhaps the outline.
I don't quite understand the shading under the nose. Looks to wide. And also, the fact that the lighter line over the lip is unbroken, makes the mouth look kind of glued on.
You need to put some lines on the ear, at least when you've got so complex shading there.
Very nice drawing.

Thanks! heh, I think you misunderstood the "WIP" thing.. I'm still working on it, what you see here is just the very very beginning of the work.
in the END I want it to have a style that fits somewhere in between photorealism and non-photorealisic (hyper-realistic, maybe?) hopefully it won't take me too long to get it towards that point.
as to your crits, you're right about the nose shadow, i'll be working on that when next I get the chance to work on this, as well as about a billion other things
