This is a shot from an animated movie in progress. What I want to know is how I could manipulate theese shots further with smoke and other concepts. The movie will be exported to video and I want the best of colours, light, and textures, what programs to use etc.. any knowhow to find somewhere on the net or other?

I would try to sharpen up the shadows on the BG. It will give it a more bright day in the desert feel. That is if you want that. If not, then don't.

I was thinking on something like that.
I saw some old episodes of 'The Simpsons' and noticed that the colors was more dull. So I figured they had improved some techniques. Run some filters or something else...?
