It's a nice drawing. Got a good a nice half-manga feel to it. Nice design.
She looks slightly boyish though, but not so boyish that it's any kind of a problem(Just so boyish that I wouldn't consider her a classic cartoon-babe, but classic cartoon babes tend to get boring anyhow, since "everybody" seems to draw only babes. She's more than pretty enough, though).
Her hand is a little bit weak, but it's a concept sketch, and often it's worse to be to detailed and "correct" in concept sketches, since it's more important to actually get them done.
The shadowing is also a bit problematic. Especially on the arm at the right side of the drawing(Our right, her left).
I don't like the fade-out at the bottom of the picture. Design wise, it would have been better to do the fading with the pencils than by digital means, but this is a very minor thing.
Nice names. Simple and familiar enough to remember, and not so simple and familiar as to become overly clich. Many who do fantasy tend to think you that you need "original" names, and come up with shit like "The mountain of Xath-hoggoth", "Plinkotiria the warrior princess", or "Tar-Hemneth, the priest of Xa-Xa-ping-pong-ling-long-thong-song-willy-wally-molly", but since the human brain only seems to have the ability of remembering 5 new things(numbers, letters, names, whatever... I've read that somewhere), it's important to get names that can easily be assosiated with familiar words or concepts.
You seem to have managed that.
Very nice work, overall. |
