after the rain, after the storm, not sure. this is almost completed. i'm going to raise the water level, and maybe make the kid a bit more shaded. c&c neeeeded.
anyone know when don's competition is due?

this is cool ken! you have me beat. i agree with you about adding a bit more shading. or maybe it could be a purely flat, graphic illustration? either way would work, right now it's a little in between those two styles.
do you think something more could happen with the sky? just something subtle, because right now it works pretty well as a strong negative shape balancing all the activity on the bottom of the pic. maybe something a little more varied and hand-painted looking?
i'm not sure when this month's submission is due. the last one was due on the first of the month, but this one didn't get going until the middle of march. i wish don's site had a little more information. |

Hey ken, that has a really great focus. My Crit would be that rather than having a uniform fadeout to the background, perhap isolating in groupings and do the fadeout. I thing that it would really help creating depth infront of her and behind her.

thanks for the comments, all.
el scoono: i know some people don't like big empty areas like the sky. i find empty skies create a feeling of space, like this puddle might stretch on for miles.
basement bound: yeah, i would try that, but the way i've set it up is that frogs of the same depth are on the same layer, then a transparent 'color fill' effect added to the layer. maybe something to keep in mind for next time?
