http://www.holographicdesign.com/milky_plus/wallgod.jpg about 150kb.

i have placeholders for the eyes that i found on the net. i plan to replace them with my own handiwork soon, but before i put in the effort, i wanted to see if anyone else liked the skewed look of the eyes. they're at a wierd angle on purpose, which i like, but i wanted to see if i was the only one that thought so ^^

so, any comments? anything i should change before i call it a done deal?

The folks on sijun don't like photo manipulations, since they can't stand the thought somebody could do a cool pic with some photos in about half an hour instead of drawing and painting like ten hours and nevertheless getting something inferior as result.

But never say that out loud, they're gonna slaughter you.

yeah it's fuzzy because my digital camera is old and takes grainy pictures >.< ugh i can't even use 99% of the pics i take.

mm. well if that's so, i won't bother posting any more photo stuff. hopefully my hands will get out of their funk and i'll be able to do regular stuff soon >.<

lol no i wasn't saying you thought it sucked. i meant if photo manipulation wasn't really appreciated here that i wasn't going to cause an uproar (though it would most likely just be ignored :P)

Its not a very compelling image. It looks like a face pasted and blurred over a texture wewt. I can relate though, I went through the filter monkey stage when I started using photoshop. Maybe you could add a lens flare for a cool third eye effect.

lol ow. that lens flare quip was below the belt :P

actually though, i didn't use any filters except when i made the original stone texture. the whole thing is just layer masks. bah. now i need to get some regular art stuff on here so i can show you i'm not a "filter monkey" ^^

i guess you're right that it's not too compelling.. :/ it was pretty much an experiment to see if i could turn the different images into something cohesive.

i'm glad jabber liked it though ^^ thx.

I think the mountains-texture (or whatever it is) isn't doing you much good here...maybe something smoother that would take less attention away from the main subject would be better. I usually just stay the heck away from the photoshop filters, they tend to give somewhat of an amateurish look to your picture (if not used with caution). This is not because the use of filters is bad, it's because many that get their hands on photoshop initially plunge right into the filters menu and start churining out dozens of hundreds of pictures, most of which, look bad...So filters commonly are associated with "bad" pictures even if they're not.

Flat gave you some really twisted information there...naughty flatso.

The thing about photomanipulations that people usually go a little crazed over is when an artist puts a picture in photoshop and using filters or some horrible brushwork and then tries to pass it off as a digital painting with little (or no) reference used.

I think that a selection of well planned and executed photographs (without editing) are more appreciated in general. There is nothing wrong with photomanipulations, just as long as you notify (like you did) that it is exaclty that.

I may just be totally wrong on all of the above. It wouldn't be the first time either...

[EDIT:] You can just disregard my blabber about filters then...

Tip #1, never listen to [666]Flat either, he usually posts 99% troll posts. He also likes to push the envelope with nekid poses of poser figures, which doesn't take much talent.
