I posted this Franchi shotgun earlier, but the other day I thought I'd detail it up a bit, make it look more worn to fit within a post apocalyptic era. So I rusted it up, scratched it a bit more, but I think I've overdone it.

The original texture:

...yeah what he said
looks great to me, maybe that top part could be a little less rusted, it would probably help if you gave us a look at the "post apocalyptic" scenery, then we could see if it fit or not

I think there should be more wear and tear on corners and edges. Places where the gun would bump and rub up against things. Maybe make it darker where the shell ejection is due to gunpower residue. Make things dirtier where people put their hands most often. I don't know if any of these suggestions will look good or not, just some thoughts.

dunno, it seems like most of the scratches look like they were painted on instead of gouged out. also why would there be so much wear around the ejection port? Its not like anything gets shoved in throught that side to cause it...

when doing wear, go for the spots that either move, smack into the wall first, or come into contact with a surface when dropped (of course any good soldier doesn't allow that to happen.

And even though it is post-apoc, go for less rust as its mostly parkerized and or blued (can't remember if they are the same process :/ ). Its pretty resiliant to weather.
