Or is it Mickey Mouse having a bad ear day?
I'll be honest, this work doesn't do anything for me. Make it more interesting would be my suggestion. Adding a candle won't help much. (Also don't try to add manga chicks or robotic dudes, it's courageous you try something else.)
The light emitted by the -soon to be- candle is also yellowish, so the white highlights on the spheres aren't acceptable to the viewer. And if a candle sheds the light the spots on the wall feel wrong too. A candle spreads a very even, point-centered light.
The perspective of the stool is off too. It maybe adds a kind of Magritte-esque atmosphere to the work, but other than that it doesn't work. I don't deliberately sound blunt, I just say what I think, so no offense! Keep drawing! |

It's good to see that you're working with ideas other than the usual fantasy, sci-fi genre. I like your decision to create an interesting scene using ordinarry objects. But you really need to work on how you present those ideas in the form of an image.
why did you copy and paste the blue orbs? you should have redrawn them from the correct perspective. Think more about lighting like jome mentioned. Think about what you need to make the image and get rid of what you don't(what is all the empty space to the left and right of the spheres there for?). don't use filters so obviously. hope this crit helps, I like your style keep it up. |

i'm hurt....
kidding, yeah perfectly valid point, how should i phrase it, it sucks
i felt i should stick out (dunno why) and a day later it looks like this:
I didn't use any filters for it.
it still somehow feels unfinished in my gut, but the link between gut and pen isn't working, if you know what i mean
anyhow, more C&C would rock
edit: one image link was wrong
