In addition. Try to shy away from dodge/burn tools, use real colors, daker shades, and use the paintbrush. Not only will you get a more interesting effect, it will make your image seem less saturated and will bring your image to the eye.
Post your next step.

Much better! Just keep working on it and maybe get some more contrast in the shading as well as some slighty different colors on the body. Great for a first try.

its good to get used to using real colors instead of generating one with burn and dodge. I myself am still working on it. Its just that burn and dodge is so easy! Anyway keep using those colors and try not to use so much blacks and greys unless there is a dark background or unless the girl just walked out of a burning building.

I'm a fairly new artist, but one thing i've learned is that if you use black for shadows it just makes things look dirty. Instead of black, try using a darker version of the color you are shading, i dunno, my two cents.

Great looking broad by the way.

If your going to color in a comic book style, LEARN HOW TO INK FIRST DAMNIT.

You image will improve 10x. Master black and white then move to color, otherwise your going to have to reverse engineer bad habbits.
