My vote is a tie between 3 movies: 2001(obviously), After the Fox(you should see this movie if not just for the end), and Sword of Doom(an old japanese movie).
So, what's the weirdest movie ending you've seen? |

American Psycho, still not sure if everything in the film actully happened or if it was just the main character's fantasies. Even read the book and that didn't help. ![](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |

Have anyone seen Memento? Its ending strikes me as more of a surprise than The Sixth Sense. The whole plot is weird but interesting. |

Ai was pretty weird, hehe.
Hmm... and just about every anime movie has a bizarre ending. |

Bladerunner also has a weird ending.
12 monkeys is one the most depressing movies EVER made because of the ending.
Encounter of the 3rd kind....
Pitch Black has a scarry ending...
Fight Club DEFINITELY has a weird ending...
2001 takes the lead easily.
There's a lot more, can't remember now. |

I have to agree about AI. Yeurglh ending. Spielberg and his sempiternal obsessions....
I wonder if that's an alternate ending ? As you may already know, lots of movies have their ending changed after the first screening (or before) like Stigmata, Sliver etc.
Which leads me to wonder if anyone knows where I could find a list of movies who had an alternate ending and if possible the description/scrip/? of it ?

The stupidest ending had to be Blair Witch 2 Book of Shadows... Don't ask why I watched it in the first place. The ending was stupid and the people should be wacked up side the head for making the movie! |

Oh yeah, I agree that Pi also has a strange ending. I rented it last month, and somehow I forgot about it.
Anybody seen "Requiem for a dream"? It's from the same director. He seems to have a bigger budget for this film, it looks beautiful, and its ending is probably the saddest one I have ever seen. |

well all of kubrick movies have that wierd ending, his movies are like a ball tossed in the air and just freezing in the air. and the credits roll. the ending to dr strangelove is the coolest most incongruent ending ever... with the bombs going off and the sweet music playing in the bg. well, that's probably why i love those movies.

Requiem For A Dream
and Dancer In the Dark
Requiem For A Dream and Dancer In the Dark were definitly depressing. When I watched Requiem, the rest of my day was ruined. =\
