Hi
I've recently taken up painting. I've always been in 3d and related stuff. But I decided it would be healthy to get away from the computer for a while.
Anyways....
Here is a painting I started working on over the holidays.
The problem is that I never actually thought this was going to be something. And thus I never really planned the whole thing out.
I was just playing around with this big piece of wood that I dug out of the trash somewhere. It's about 5 by 8 ft.
Now it's just sitting in our room. I think it has the potential to become something cool. But at the same time it's starting to irritate me. I just don't know where to go with it.
Maybe some remarks from you guys can make me want to work on it again. I am planning on just painting over the whole background since it looks dumb right now.
here's a (not so great) photo of it.

I think the tree works well, especially the roots near the bottom. However in my opinion the figure looks really awkward, the legs looks kind of right but from the torso up he looks really twisted, also its not too clear if he either has no arms or they are tucked into the roots. |
