This is something I am working on for my girlfriend (it is supposed to look like her), but that isn't what I need. I just need to know if the proportions look correct to everyone.
So...?
Thanks!!! |

These might just be me, but the two things I noticed...
Her left hand seems a little masculine, maybe thin it out a little? Unless she's suppose to be gripping the book tightly enough to where it would flatten out like that.
Her right breast (our left) protrudes past her arm but her left breast looks tucked under, makes it look smaller, either have that arm going around the breast as well or add some element to make the arm look like its out farther? I'm not sure if thats just me or really there, it's 5am
Cool sketch
Edit: 5am typos

Very nice picture, and I'm sure she'll love it. The only real problem is that the body is *very* masculine. Here's a few things that might help:
1.) The neck on a girl is usually much thinner and longer than a man's. The muscles to the side of the neck also "bulge" less.
2.) Feminine collar-bones are more delicate and very curvy.
3.) Her whole body needs to be slimmer, especially the arms. If you cover up the breasts and face with your hands and just look at her arms and shoulders, they look like a macho man. Think *curvy* and less muscular.
4.) Her hands need to be *much* smaller and slimmer. As a rule women have small hands compared to men. You drew these lovely slim wrists and then put on hands that are a tad bit big.
5.) I moved the medallion on her head over just a teensy bit and fiddled with the curve of the head-dress so it looked a little more symetrical. But that was just me being a fuss-budget. |

Thanks everyone, especially Kaete for the redraw. I do have a lot of problems with proportions (especially women, with all of their yummy curves and such!) and I knew that there was something "off" with this.
Thanks again and of course it will be posted every now and then.
Thanks! |

Oh, yes, please do show this when you get finished! I'm sure it will be great.
Drawnblud, I totally feel your pain when it comes to anatomy and gender. Except I have the opposite problem - women are easy, and men are really hard! For a girl reference I can just look in the mirror, but if I'm having trouble with a male then I have to look it up in a magazine or something. |
