As far as the eyes go, that depends. What do you think is wrong with them? Do you want a different anime style shape or is there something else that's bothering you about them?

i'd say zoom in and try your best with teh eyes, iyt really depends on your level of skill with that kind of thing. but about the shadows you might want to erase them completly and just try shading the colour, using colour dodge or burn or whatever. (this is if your using photoshop)

Anime eyes, for all I've tried to do, just never feel right -- at least not relative to the whole face. In this girl's case, she seems too "round eye", which wouldn't be bad but... hmm. I wish I knew.

Basically, do her eyes look normal in her head? Slender seductive eyes don't seem to work, and when I pop them out, Sailor Moon style, she just looks stupid.

The end goal is to have an attractive, benign character.

I did a quick sketch of the most generic anime eyes I could come up with.
Remember, when in doubt do a www.google.com search or, my personal favorite an www.altavista.com IMAGE search.
I hope this helps!!

Hi Little Bee
I suggest you make a search on the forum. I launched one with "anime eyes" and found this thread that I think you may find interesting.
There's a TON of such questions and answers around threads and usually interesting links to follow.

Zekie had also posted this : (Can't find the thread but I had saved the pic he did)

Hope it helps

Didn't do much with the shadows, now that I'm back looking at your original thing where you'asking about what you should fix.

Sorry, heh, but the complextion of the orange-haired girl in the bottom corner reminds me of a certain Cowboy Bebop character .... that threw me off the whole time I was messing with her face. Kept wanting to give her a big 'ol Anime toothy-grin.

Good job though, in general. Her hair drove me nuts -- she looks like a scruffy thing from an orphanage (maybe this is on purpose). As for the eyes, I think most cartoon-eyes have upturned corners with spikey eyelashes for even the guys.

Thanks all! Especially thanks to egerie for the "eye chart". I tried copying and pasting a lot of those eyes to see what I was going for, and it helped tons.

My problem is that I've got to sketch by hand everything that I WANT to do in the computer, and it drags down stamina. I keep thinking I can tug and alter everything -- no tablet -- without fixing the scan. Rrrgh.

As for you, Hatred... heh heh heh. Didn't you say you hated Sijun? I wrote "Edward" next to this girl, once she was done, which is just my subconscious, I guess. From there, the only choice was to color her hair red. You did some good on that. Me likes. Thanks for the post.
